Andrea Yaffe
GIS Analyst
Andrea is responsible for conducting early-stage GIS Desktop Studies, to identify the best prospective sites for wind farm development. She also works on maintaining an up-to-date suite of GIS layers and databases which are used to screen prospective sites.
In addition to her GIS roles, Andrea is responsible for monitoring and subsequently processing all wind data from OwnEnergy’s fleet of 60 and 80 meter meteorological towers. She also completes and files all FAA-related applications for wind turbines and meteorological towers.
Prior to joining OwnEnergy, Andrea had a vital role in the set-up and management of a non-profit community organization in New Orleans, LA that focused on improving the public school system. Prior, Andrea worked at MTV Networks/Viacom. She graduated with honors from the New School University and is continuing studies at John Jay College for Criminal Justice.
Andrea is currently attending John Jay College of Criminal Justice to obtain her MS in Forensic Mental Health Counseling . She lives in Brooklyn and enjoys volunteering, traveling and the Boston Red Sox.
