James Damon

Project Developer

James is responsible for structuring, negotiating and securing strategic business relationships and wind project development in the eastern Great Lakes and Mid-Atlantic regions.

Prior to joining OwnEnergy, James was a Senior Associate at RESOLVE where he specialized in designing collaborative processes that addressed renewable energy and climate change adaptation issues. James also served for two years as the Outreach Coordinator for the National Wind Coordinating Collaborative (NWCC), where he catalyzed action on strategic issues for wind development. As one of the facilitators for the electrical transmission, siting, and wildlife workgroups, he assessed the needs of respective constituencies and stakeholder groups and identified events or opportunities for NWCC to pursue. The NWCC is a respected resource on wind energy and James assisted the collaborative to write reference documents. 

James holds a Masters of City and Regional Planning from The Ohio State University and a BA in Urban and Community Planning from the University of Connecticut.

James lives in Manhattan and in his free time enjoys running, cooking, and travel.
