Jason Lowenstein, Ph.D.

GIS and Wind Resource Analyst

Jason completed his Ph.D. in Atmospheric Physics at The University of Leeds, UK. His thesis was focused on quantifying the production of warm rain forming in shallow cumulus clouds in the Caribbean.  Prior to his Ph.D., Jason received a master’s degree with distinction in Earth and Atmospheric Physics from The University of Leeds. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Physics from Skidmore College, NY, where he graduated summa cum laude.

Jason has developed a proprietary GIS screening process which allows OwnEnergy to efficiently conduct in-depth, early-stage, desktop feasibility studies.  He also oversees the in-house wind resource efforts—which include met tower installations, turbine layouts and wind resource assessments—and supports the origination and project development teams at all stages of the process.

Jason is an avid snowboarder and enjoys spending time with his wife and family.
