Chief Financial Officer
Ray Henger joined OwnEnergy in 2009 following a 14-year career as an investment banker in New York. Ray currently serves as the Company’s chief financial officer and assists in the day-to-day management of the Company. As CFO, Ray oversees the Company’s finance, IT, HR and legal functions. Since joining OwnEnergy, Ray has led the successful Series B and Series C preferred corporate investments as well as the sale or project financing of six projects.
Prior to joining OwnEnergy, Ray was a Managing Director in Credit Suisse’s Power and Renewables Group. Ray’s career in investment banking included positions with Wasserstein Perella, Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ) and Credit Suisse, respectively. Although Ray’s recent focus in the energy industry was concentrated on renewable power producers, over the course of his career he has advised his clients in a number of energy focused industries, including the independent power producers, regulated utilities and oil and gas exploration and producers. During his career, Ray assisted his clients in raising more than $20 billion in debt and equity and regularly advised his clients on the purchase and sale of generation assets.
Ray lives in Brooklyn with his wife, Allison and daughter, Amelia. He holds a BA in Finance from Southern Methodist University and is a member of the Board of Directors of the St. Nicks Alliance.
