Vice President, Development & Asset Management

Russ is one of OwnEnergy’s founding members and provides expertise ranging from development to finance and asset management.  In his development role, Russ is responsible for overseeing development efforts in New England, the Mid-Atlantic, Rocky Mountains, and Southwest Region. In addition, he is responsible for the company’s O&M and asset management program. 

Russ led the successful development and eventual sale of the 60MW Blackwell Wind Farm in Oklahoma in 2011 which featured an innovative sales agreement of renewable power to an in-state university.  He worked on the development, offtake, construction financing, and O&M contracting for the 68MW Windthorst-2 project, which reached financial close in December 2013.  He also helped to develop the Windthorst-1 project, which was sold by OwnEnergy in 2009 and later completed in 2012. 

Prior to OwnEnergy, Russ worked at Goldman Sachs, where he managed the investment portfolios for corporate executives, entrepreneurs, and non-profit organizations.  Russ holds a BA in Economics from Bates College.  He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts.  He lives and works in New York City and is a mentor for New York City high school students.  Russ enjoys skiing, reading, marathon running, and following sports in his free time.
