As part of Minnesota‘s Community-Based Energy Development (C-BED), certain utilities have a self-imposed goal to purchase power from C-BED projects. In Colorado, community wind projects fulfilling certain criteria receive a 150% credit towards meeting renewable portfolio standard (RPS) requirements. Certain utilities in Maine have special mandates to purchase from qualifying projects, and as in Colorado, community-based projects under 10 MW receive a 150% credit towards meeting RPS requirements.
